Leipzig, 21.10. - 22.10.2011
The winter workshop was held in the historical city, Leipzig. The Park hotel, which was located just opposite to Leipzig Hauptbahnhof, hosted the events of the workshop. The day started with mini-breakfast and the presentations from the heat transfer group. After the coffee break, students from the creep modeling group presented about their work.
The lunch was at the same hotel and delicious. After the lunch, the Bus Tour was arranged to visit the beautiful Leipzig. The group was divided into two and guides were arranged for both German and English speaking groups. The students enjoyed the city tour by looking the beauty of the Leipzig from the windows of the bus. The guides were cooperative and explained everything. The bus was stopped for 20 minutes at the Monument to the battle of nations. We are very much excited to know about the battle between countries during the 18 th century.
After the bus tour, the presentations were started again. Mathematics group presented about their work followed by the presentations from the drying group.
The dinner was arranged at Auerbachs Keller, the best known and second oldest restaurant in Leipzig. dating to at least the first half of the fifteenth century. The next day was started with a nice breakfast and coffee. The particle modeling group started the day with their presentations and crystal plasticity group ended the day with presentations. On the whole, the trip was a very well organized.
