Weimar, 30.11. - 01.12.2012
The winter workshop 2012 was held in Weimar. Weimar is located southwest to Magdeburg and famous for its cultural heritage.Hotel Acarte hosted the events, which is 15 minutes walk away from the main train station. While walking, the first snow of the winter was showered on heads.
After the minibreakfast, the workshop was kicked off with the presentations from the crystal plasticity group. In the second session, students from the heat transfer group presented their work. The lunch at the hotel was very nice. We took the bus to go into the main city. The streets were decorated for the weihnachten. As usual, the group was divided into two and the guides were arranged in both German and English languages. The guided tour was informative and everyone came to know about some historical acts in Weimar.
We travel back to the venue by bus and the evening session was started with a nice hot coffee. The Pore networking group presented in this session. After the session we again walked to the restaurant ‘Gaststätte Schwanseeschlößchen’ , for the dinner.
The next was started with the presentations from the Mathematics group. The Creep modeling group ended the day with their presentations. After the workshop, a group of members were travelled to ‘ Buchenwald concentration camp’.
